In his recent conquest to glory prior to the huge potential super-fight against Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder ended up suffering a shocking lopsided defeat at the hands of Joseph Parker. Wilder who was the favorite going into the fight, ended up getting thoroughly battered by his opponent. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ lost every round during the fight. Thus his position as one of the top dogs of the heavyweight division is now in question.
What makes this loss even more humiliating is that Joshua was able to achieve a knockout victory against Otto Wallin. Moreover, Joshua had fought Parker back in 2018 and won the bout. Thus Wilder’s loss has put both his potential fight against Joshua and Francis Ngannou in jeopardy. In the midst of the storm that rose due to his loss, an old video of Wilder has resurfaced, further worsening his situation.

Back in 2018, Anthony Joshua was at the peak of his career with two belts in his possession. He fought Parker to finally get the third belt and become a unified champion. Parker gave him a tough fight and finally, after 21 fights took the then-champion to the distance after a long time.
Wilder at the time shared a video where he reacted to the fight. In the video, he exclaimed, “Oh my god!”. Furthermore, he added, “My grandma always told me- if you aint have something nice to say then baby, don’t say nothing at all.” He also mocked Joshua stating, “That’s all imma say man. It’s out! the baddest man in the world, the baddest man on the planet and that’s facts. Where’s my bomb squad people at?”
Interestingly, just like the movies, his statement came back to bite him five years after he suffered such devastating defeat against the same opponent.
