“The Drugs Testing System Is a Farce”: Sunny Edwards Joins Fans in Slamming UKAD as News of Conor Benn Being Cleared Breaks the Internet

Last year, ahead of his fight with Chris Eubank Jr., Conor Benn, failed his drug tests by testing positive for clomifene. This led to the immediate cancellation of Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn earlier scheduled for October 8, 2022. However, Benn argued against the test reports and even sent WBC a 270-page defense to prove his innocence. By and by, the WBC concluded that Benn likely failed the drug tests due to a “highly elevated consumption of eggs“.

Later, Benn took to Twitter, and while he expressed that he was “grateful for the ultimate finding“, he simultaneously accused the WBC of doing his 270-page defense a “disservice“. In addition, Benn declared that his defense was “not a technical defense to exploit a loophole“. After the UKAD officially cleared Conor Benn, IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards and boxing fans jabbed the UKAD and the testing system.

Sunny Edwards and a number of boxing fans don’t think that the actions of the UKAD are above board. In fact, the IBF world champion branded the drug-testing system “a farce“. As per Edwards, one can get away with cheating if only they have lawyers and loopholes. In his response to IFL TV’s latest tweet about Conor Benn and the UKAD, the 27-year-old wrote, “This whole saga basically shows that the drugs-testing system is a farce – and if you have enough lawyers and loopholes it doesn’t matter what’s found in your system, lovely.”

Meanwhile, a user sarcastically wrote, “Eggsellent news.”

On the other hand, another said, “Next time anyone gets caught just use the Conor Benn Eggs excuse and all will be fine.”
