“That’s What Gods Greats Do”: Fans Appreciate Floyd Mayweather Jr. Passing on His Boxing Wisdom to the Likes of Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, and Shakur Stevenson

Most fans vouch for how much Floyd Mayweather Jr. loves sharing his insight and scholarship in boxing. Especially mentoring young boxers, some of whom are big names in the sport. The delight of fans knew no bounds. They came across a series of clips on Instagram early today. It shows Mayweather Jr. sharpening the skills of Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and Keyshawn Davis one-on-one. It was enough to inspire a whole bunch to pour in their emotions, primarily pleasant and a few not-so-pleasant.

Michael Benson shared a message through Instagram today. It read, “Floyd Mayweather [is] passing on his knowledge to the next generation – Devin Haney, Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and Keyshawn Davis…” The first clip shows Haney moving diligently to Mayweather Jr.’s steps while hitting the boxing pads. The next one shows the latter, discussing the finer aspects of defending when pushed into a corner. Soon after ‘The Money” is seen tying the gloves on Stevenson’s hands, fans finally find him training Keyshawn Davis.

User Deldrick couldn’t help but observe that those blessed by God and achieving great success usually share their learning and education with the new generation. He said, “That’s what [God’s] Greats do: Pass the knowledge to the up and coming.”

Andrew Gibson also quipped that footage of Mayweather Jr. showing humility and sharing his expertise is captivating: “Clips of Floyd being humble and passing on his knowledge are always great.“

Alex also found it remarkable how much of an influence Mayweather Jr. has had on the careers of many of today’s promising young talents. “Crazy how he’s directly influenced so many of these young [up-and-comers].“

Among the few who took a different route, Dylan Loughney spoke about Gervonta Davis. He said that ‘Tank’ needs only to land one shot to dispatch all the boxers quickly. However, Stevenson could be the only person to present a potent threat to Davis. He said, “Tank beats them all[; it] only takes him to land one shot to stop them. Shakur is the only danger to tank, IMO.“

Then, among those who questioned Mayweather Jr., Maike José Mata took a jibe that the most critical lesson he could impart to the juniors would be avoiding fights, especially when the competitors are doing exceedingly well. José Mata said, “He should just teach them his most important number 1 rule: Do not take the fights when fighters are in their PRIME!!“

Perhaps there isn’t anything more left to accomplish for the forty-six-year-old Floyd Mayweather Jr. On second thoughts, there could be a few milestones to set the undefeated former champion on the perfect track. Given his familiarity and deep-rooted understanding of the sport, a logical sequence could be to dish it out to the deserving.
