In a nostalgic tribute nearly five decades after the 1976 Oscar-winning sports film ‘Rocky’ captured the hearts of audiences, Sylvester Stallone returned to the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art. This visit marked a significant moment, as it coincided with Philly’s inaugural Rocky Day. A newly established annual city holiday was observed on the same day that ‘Rocky’ was originally released to U.S. audiences.

Rocky’s ascent up the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s 72 steps symbolized resilience and triumph. Stallone acknowledges that this cinematic moment altered the trajectory of his life forever.
