The landscape of boxing is not what it was at the commencement of this year. Amongst other things, Canelo Alvarez split with, ‘Matchroom Boxing,’ and signed a three-fight deal with Al Haymon’s, ‘Premier Boxing Champions,’ promotions. Intriguingly, Haymon happens to be the former manager of his rival, Floyd Mayweather.
Only last month, ‘Saul,’ faced Jermell Charlo in his fight bout under the new banner. Moreover, post the bout, Showtime Boxing network made a startling and sudden exit. However, according to the new revelation, the boxing network would continue to host the remaining two fights for Alvarez. Why is that?

The fights of ‘Premier Boxing Champions,’ were telecasted by Showtime. Although the network has come to a halt, they are contractually obligated to televise the remaining two fights of the undisputed Super Middleweight champion as per his deal. Moreover, a recent revelation shows that it was already assented in advance and this is only exclusive to the fights of Alvarez.

This revelation may come as a shock to many. However, the deal signed with Alvarez is worth a whopping $100 million. Needless to say, certain exceptional deals get exceptional treatment. Moreover, let’s take a look at Alvarez predicting his tie-up with PBC.

After his second defeat against Dmitry Bivol, Alvarez weighed in on the possibility of signing with PBC. Almost a year later, he announced his deal with Haymon’s promotion. In an interview with Fighthub.TV, he stated, “Maybe next year I go to PBC and we can talk.” A year later, the boxer stayed true to his word and shook up the boxing world by signing a three fight deal worth $100 million. Needless to say, it is one of the most lucrative boxing deals of all time.
