After months of speculation about Stevenson’s next opponent, the Newark native claimed his next fight would be in his hometown on the slated date of July 6. He wrote, “July 6th Newark [New Jersey] be there tune in… It’s [going to] be a murder scene.” Moreover, after Stevenson’s last dance in the square circle, he has been under heavy fire because of what people claim was a lackluster performance.

So, addressing all the criticism thrown against him, Stevenson wrote, “Whoever it is gotta take real punishment because of yall.” With this statement, it’s a bit unclear whether Stevenson knows who he will face next. Meanwhile, Oscar De La Hoya has suggested a name for Stevenson to take on next.

Undefeated boxer might be Stevenson’s next opponent

William Zepeda is one of the best fighters in De La Hoya’s stable. More importantly, he is undefeated and has fought more opponents than Shakur Stevenson. What’s more, on March 16, Zepeda defeated Maxi Hughes via fourth-round stoppage, showcasing his impressive abilities.
