Ryan Garcia is not one without his backups. Should the worst outcome befall him on the night of his fight against Devin Haney, he has an alternate course of action he will resort to. In a striking revelation, the fighter has claimed to have received an offer from a leading record label for his music.

On April 20, in a Brooklyn fight, ‘KingRy’ will face off against his two-division champion, opponent Devin Haney, in what could be his toughest fight to date. Purely, based on both fighter’s skills, it seems like the fight could go either way. However, the concerning social media antics the Californian has shown lately has nudged people to question his seriousness for the fight. While he remains confident of defeating ‘The Dream’, it’s not like he’s not thought of the worst-case scenario.

Hosts of the Full Send Podcast were bold enough to ask the 25-year-old his game plan if he lost to Haney. In response, confident of winning, Ryan Garcia noted, “Well, that’s not going to happen in my hearts of hearts.” But let’s just assume for argument’s sake, that he loses. What then? “But say if I lose, hypothetically, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I mean, I’m getting signed into Universal Records… They’re signing me.”

Universal Records Group, one of the biggest global record groups, has been instrumental in getting a platform for many major artists. But could Garcia be a prospect? Substantiating his plan with the label, Garcia further said, “I have good music. I mean, why else? I’ve performed from… I could play the guitar, I could play the piano, I could sing, I could rap. I could do it all. Just people don’t know that. I play by ear. People don’t know who I am.”

Why has he not spoken about his inclination toward music before? “I’ve always been able to do whatever the f*ck I want, but I just never put it out there cause people just wanna see me box. But now, I don’t give a f*ck. I put out my music, everything,” he explained.

While he remains confident about continuing his stint in the ring, he has also now expressed his willingness to explore other avenues. However, this is not the first time, his musical acumen has been exposed to the world.

Will Garcia release his music soon?

Earlier, reports suggested that the fighter was all set to drop his own song. Happy Punch shared a video on their social media in which Ryan Garcia was seen jamming to loud music from within the ring. The boxing insider account wrote in captions, “Ryan Garcia is dropping music.”

The account also went on to claim that he was giving a taste of his unreleased number at YouTuber Rangesh Mutama, aka N3on‘s live broadcast.

In early March, he channeled his inner musician by posting a song on his social media that highlighted his acoustic guitar strums. It was a rendition of the hit song, “Creep” by Radiohead. Along with the song, he wrote, “They will find a way to hate on this…i express my self sometimes thru music. You don’t have to like it.”
