Boxing phenom Ryan Garcia has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. From accusations of intoxication to concerns about drug use, Garcia’s mental well-being has fans worried. The drama began with his rival, Devin Haney, claiming Garcia was “drunk” at their press conference.
Things escalated when Jake Paul, too, alleged drug use and even Garcia’s ex-wife expressed concern. However, a recent Instagram video has offered a glimmer of hope. Garcia looked healthy and invigorated, and he talked about how he woke up before his team and even paid tribute to the creator of Dragon Ball Z, Akira Toriyama, who passed away earlier this month.

Ryan Garcia was seen drenched in sweat, sitting on a sofa. He talked about how he’s trying to be the best on his team, and for that reason, he’s doing things that would make him a better leader altogether. He said, “Rest in peace, the creator of Dragon Ball Z. Today it was on my mind as I woke up and I got ready to run. I noticed nobody was here. I was the first one on my team up and I was already off running and answering phone calls.”

He mentioned that he didn’t want to talk down on his team, and then he also walked his fans through the life of being a champion. Garcia stated, “If you’re a boss, you need to show them why you’re the best boss in the world. If you’re gonna be a fighter, you gotta show the other fighters, you’re the best fighter in the world. And there’s gonna be so many distractions, so many things trying to stop you from running. I mean, my phone wasn’t charged. I didn’t have my headphones. But that doesn’t matter. Because at the end of the day, sometimes you just gotta do it yourself.”
Then he also referenced the Bible to tell his fans that they shouldn’t be afraid of the obstacles that come their way. They must embrace them because they’re all trials and tribulations being put forth by God himself.

In the same video, Garcia talked about how he’s always seen all of the times when he was low, as an opportunity to grow better and stronger. He even stated that he had a lot of challenges before his morning run, but that didn’t stop him from going for the run. He put everything aside and just went to do his work, without giving any excuses to himself. And that’s exactly what he demanded from his fans as well.

Garcia said, “You know, in life, you know, there’s gonna always be obstacles. There’s always gonna be trials and God will give you that so that you lack nothing. Look it up in the Bible. I think it speaks a bit in James that God will give you trials so that you lack nothing.” Furthermore, he continued, “So I thank God for every high and every low, every mountain top and every deep, deep valley that I named because I know it was just preparing me for something better. And shaping me as the man that I need to be. Thank you guys for everything and I hope this touches somebody’s heart.”
