Conor Benn has his eyes set on the big prize and has called out the IBF welterweight titlist Jaron Ennis. After a year of inactivity stemming from an adverse finding in a drug test, Conor Benn made a triumphant return to the ring in September, securing a victory against Rodolfo Orozco in Orlando. Having successfully shaken off the ring rust, Benn is now fueled by a heightened eagerness to engage in significant bouts. He’s eager to make up for the lost time during his period of inactivity.

On the other hand, Jaron Ennis is fresh off a remarkable second-round knockout victory against Canadian challenger Custio Clayton in an IBF title eliminator. Ennis is wasting no time in staying active and focused on his training regimen. So, Benn wants to take him on next, even before his much-anticipated fight against Chris Eubank Jr.

In a recent post made on X, Conor Benn posted a video from his training camp. He could be seen working on his punches on the heavy bag, executing different movements. The caption of the post posed a challenge for a certain fighter. Conor Benn has made his mind up on his next competitor after his fight with Chris Eubank Jr fell through. He is looking forward to facing Jaron Ennis.

He wrote on X, “All these welterweights are running scared from @JaronEnnis well I’ll run right to him. Let’s go champ.” If this fight comes to fruition, Benn could potentially become the new IBF champion which would officially declare his return in the ring. Then, there is a slim chance that Eubank Jr would ignore Benn for their marquee fight.

However this is not the first time, Benn has poked the champion. Even before this, he’s claimed that he’d easily knock out ‘Boots’, and Ennis has already responded to Benn’s statement.

In an interview with American sports YouTube channel YSM Sports Media, Ennis, an elite welterweight boxer, addressed comments from Benn suggesting he could knock out the young American prodigy. Unfazed by the remarks, Ennis spoke his mind.

He said, “He doesn’t even believe that himself. He’s just sounding stupid. There’s nobody who really knows who he is, but we can make that happen, anywhere, anytime, these guys keep talking too much.” He continued, “He isn’t really about no action. We’ll see if he’s really about that action…You’re going to get hurt messing around with me!
