Change is inevitable. It is not just boxing which has to go through a transformation with every new dawn, according to Hopkins. What we can do best is let the dead rest and move on to bigger possibilities. “I don’t look at Showtime being out of boxing as a bad or a good thing. They want you to think that way. I can say I don’t care. But I do, I care that it’s a change, it’s a new world. Curtis Mayfield. Now why I said that is because now a lot of people that are going to see this are gonna go and for the first time they gonna listen to Curtis Mayfield lyrics and they gonna say- wow, this was in the 70s?”
Curtis Mayfield at one point ruled the world of soul music. However, when Hopkins asked the interviewer if he knew of him, he shook his head. This is the point that Hopkins was trying to make. With the cycle of time, things change. “It happens in business too. Look around. Some of the food don’t taste like it used to taste before COVID or after COVID. “ Hopkins believes that the only way to deal with it is to own it and execute it. “Only su*kers are afraid of change. Real men is not afraid of change. They embrace it. They grab it. And they execute it.“
