Francis Ngannou will face Tyson Fury on 28 October in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the lead-up to the highly anticipated fight, Fury is a heavy crowd favorite because of Ngannou’s lack of boxing experience. To combat that issue, Ngannou brought in Mike Tyson to help him with his training camp. While ‘Iron Mike’ has a lot of wisdom to impart, fans have expressed doubts if that would be enough for Ngannou to pose a threat.

During their recent face-off interview, Tyson Fury asserted that Ngannou is a threat to his undefeated streak because of his awkward boxing style. What’s more, even Mike Tyson has claimed that Ngannou could drop Tyson Fury with a single shot. However, that does not supersede the fact that Ngannou lacks boxing experience when compared to his opponent. So, he needs all the advice he can get from Mike Tyson before the fight. While appearing in a recent interview with ESPN, the reporter revealed one of the crucial pieces of advice Mike gave Ngannou for his big upcoming fight.

The best thing Mike Tyson could give Francis Ngannou before the fight

In the interview on ESPN, Ngannou and Brett Okamoto, the reporter, were discussing Mike’s role in Ngannou’s training. After Ngannou explained what he absorbed from Mike during their training, Brett recalled a conversation he had with Mike earlier. Brett revealed he asked Mike – ‘what is the greatest piece of advice he could give Ngannou before the fight?’

“I talked to him [Mike] yesterday. I asked him what do you think is the most important thing you could give Francis going into this fight?” Brett recalled. According to Brett, Mike simply gave a two-word advice to Ngannou. “And he [Mike] said, uh “stay calm,” Brett revealed. While the advice might not seem like a lot to many, Ngannou agreed with Brett’s recollection of the advice. Ngannou went as far as to claim that Kamaru Usman was responsible for the genesis of that advice.

Tyson Fury predicts how long the fight will go

Tyson Fury is the WBC world heavyweight champion of the world, who has defeated the hard-hitting Deontay Wilder. So, it is safe to say it’s not his first time fighting a formidable puncher. In a recent face-off interview with TNT Sports Boxing, Fury took a step further than being confident and explained how he will beat Ngannou.

“I’m going to knock him out inside six rounds,” said Fury. How? “Got on the front foot, high arms, siccing him with a punishing jab…bust him up, swell his eyes out, and then faint, slip, bang. KO,” Fury predicted. While it might seem like overconfidence, the truth might not be far behind, given Fury’s history.

With merely days left from the fight night, the crucial piece of advice from Mike was revealed to the public. However, how useful the advice will prove to be can only be known when the fight begins.
