World champion boxers Ricky Hatton, the late Diego Corrales, Ivan Calderon, and Michael Moorer have been inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2024. While this was a dream come true for Calderon, Hatton claimed he received the greatest honor in the sport. Meanwhile, Moorer was glad that he had finally made it to the class of the elites.

Certainly, it is a dream of every pugilist to enter the Hall of Fame. Well, now that these inductees celebrate this honor, here is a homage paid to their unforgettable legacies.

The legacies of Ricky Hatton and Diego Corrales in a nutshell

Ricky Hatton began professional boxing in 1997 at the young age of 19. Having completed seven years in the sport, he won the IBF Super Lightweight title against Kostya Tszyu in 2005. Gradually, he became the Unified Super Lightweight champion and faced Floyd Mayweather in 2007 with the WBC Welterweight title on the line. Although Mayweather defeated Hatton, ‘The Hitman’ successfully defended his IBO Super Lightweight title before losing the same to Manny Pacquiao in 2009.

On the other hand, only two years after his debut, Diego Corrales became the Unified Super Featherweight champion in 2000. And in 2005, following his victory over Jose Luis Castillo, he became the Unified Lightweight Champion in the sport. Even though Corrales passed away in 2007, the boxing world will remember his KO wins over the likes of Angel Manfredy, Michael Davis, and Roque Cassiani.

The unforgettable Flyweight champ and the man who beat Evander Holyfield

Meanwhile, Ivan Calderon became the WBO Light Flyweight champion of the world in 2007 and successfully defended the same six times. However, after he lost the title to Giovani Segura in 2010, he won the WBO Latino Minimum title against Felipe Rivas in 2011. Although he retired in 2012, the boxing world will continue to pay homage to his craft and the dedication he displayed inside the ring.

Finally, the same year [1988] Michael Moorer debuted in pro boxing, he became the WBA Light Heavyweight Champion of the world. After defending the title nine times, Moorer won the WBO World Heavyweight Championship against Bert Cooper in 1992. However, the most impressive moment of his career arrived when he beat Evander Holyfield to win the Unified Heavyweight title in 1994. Although Holyfield later avenged his loss to Moorer, it is worth mentioning that he also faced George Foreman in a fight.
