Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson is officially on. Paul, under whose promotion company the fight enlists itself for Netflix shared on his social media that the contract has finally been inked. As he uploaded a promotional picture for the same, fans expressed their deep-rooted feelings about the undertaking.
On the 20th of July, the two fighters, big names for their respective generations, will enter the ring at the massive AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight has been plagued by criticism since its announcement. “Iron Mike” will be 58 by the time the fight takes place, nearly 30 years older than his opponent. This massive age disparity has raised ethical concerns, a point recently invoked by fans in Jake Paul’s social media post.

On his Instagram, ‘Problem Child’ posted a couple of pictures with his legendary opponent. In one, the fighters dressed in black could be seen shaking each other’s hands, while in the second, they assumed an intimidating pose facing each other. The highlight of the picture was Mike’s t-shirt, which read, “Sign the contract, big boy. Sign the contract.”

Even more interesting were the caption for the images. In it, Paul wrote, “The greatest heavyweight boxer on the planet and Mike Tyson.” While the idea of the fight in itself was offensive to a huge sect of boxing aficionados, his addressing himself as ‘the greatest’ in comparison to Tyson worsened it. Fans held back no qualms in unleashing their disapproval of Jake Paul.
“The god of war”
While it is a little too early to predict the outcome of the fight, fans have started getting on the bandwagon already. While Jake Paul has a record of 9-1 in his young professional career, Mike Tyson, in his two-decade reign, boasts a staggering 50-6 record. One fan presented the irony of the entire matchup while contending how the bout presents nothing good for Jake Paul. The fan wrote, “It’s a lose-lose for Jake: He K.Os Mike & people say it’s rigged, or that he knocked out a 60 y.o man. Or he gets K.O’d by Mike & he got knocked out by a 60 y.o retired boxer.”
Another user was astonished at Paul’s confidence. They wrote, “He really thinks he’s gonna beat Mike Tyson.”

However, body dimensions-wise, Paul, 27, seems to be a bit on the smaller side according to a fan. They remarked, “Bro look at Mikes hand compared to Jakes oo…He’s screwed.”
Another user said the exact opposite of what the previous user said. They remarked, “Jake looks bigger than Mike.”
A user came with a warning. They cautioned Paul against Mike Tyson’s prowess, noting, “You woke the god of war, time to bring the heat baby!”
