In a recent interview with Men’s Health Magazine, the British Promoter detailed his fascination with online poker. Hearn found himself irresistibly drawn to the allure of high-stakes poker. Playing into the early hours, the thrill of the game and the promise of big wins captivated him. However, as the losses mounted, Hearn began to grapple with the consequences of his actions.

“I would find myself playing high stakes cash games at all hours of the morning and going to bed, having lost a considerable amount of money, thinking, ‘What on earth are you doing?'” he said.

Recognizing the severity of his poker addiction, Hearn took a decisive step. In an act of self-preservation, he approached his colleagues and clients at various poker sites, urging them to ban his account and remove him from temptation.

“In the end, I actually had to speak to some of our colleagues and clients at these poker sites and tell them to just ban my account and take me off,” he added.

Many have always looked for adventures outside of their sport and Hearn was no exception. Following the thrills and challenges of the poker tables, the Matchroom CEO found himself yearning for new adventures.

It was during this time that he ventured into the world of stock trading. His initial success in poker may have fueled his confidence. However, Hearn soon realized that the stock market was an entirely different arena.
