Heavyweight rising prospect Jared Anderson‘s career hit a rough patch outside the ring this week. He was arraigned on Saturday morning facing a felony charge of fleeing a police officer. According to reports, Anderson led officers on a dangerous chase exceeding 130 mph in his Dodge Challenger. This spanned over six miles and involved three failed attempts to pull him over.
The incident culminated with Anderson crashing his car into a median. While he was released on bond later that day, the legal trouble casts a shadow over Anderson’s future, with restrictions placed on his driving privileges until the case is resolved. As of now, his court hearings have been scheduled for March 13th, and, it seems, till then he doesn’t want anybody presenting their views on the matter.

The undefeated boxer was surprised to see that his criminal offense was being advertised all around the news. He was particularly caught off-guard by ESPN doing a segment about his arrest, especially when his promoting company Top Rank has a seven-year deal going on with ESPN, which will end in 2025. He believed that this was quite unfair that they would do such a thing to one of their star boxers.

Anderson stated with surprise, “Aye Top Rank, I really don’t know what the f**k going on with y’all. But on my mamma, is y’all promoting me or is y’all trynna down me, cus? It’s bad enough everybody else posting the dumba** s**t. Y’all don’t even know what the f**k going on yet. Quit doing this.” He was confused as to why ESPN would choose to show his story as well as his previous arrests, considering their deal with Top Rank.

Despite looking like ESPN simply doing their job, Anderson had different views. The WBO International heavyweight champion contended that nobody knows the full story here, and reporting on it right now is quite premature and unkind. He also stated, “I don’t know what the f**k is up with you n*** on that f***ing stand bro, quit doing this weird a** s**t bro.” Not only that, while adding the clip to his Instagram story, he also wrote in the captions, “@toprank don’t piss me off we can break this shit off right now wtf,” threatening to break off his deal with Top Rank if they refuse to side with him.

He’s set to fight against Ryad Mehry on April 13th, and for that reason, he’s a bit concerned that it might hamper the viewership and even the scheduling of the fight. Hopefully, nothing of that sort will happen. What are your thoughts about this? Tell us in the comments section.
