What lies ahead for KSI? The British YouTuber had a reality check when he stood across Tommy Fury in the squared circle in Manchester. Not only did he drop the fight, but he also turned in a lackluster performance. The questions are many. Does the loss derail his crossover boxing career, or will he return strongly? If you ask a crossover boxing fan, they might suggest picking the least probable possibility. Here, it is the showdown between KSI and his archrival, Jake Paul.

The British influencer has, on multiple occasions, reiterated his desire to fight ‘The Problem Child’ and then hang his boxing gloves. A win against Tommy Fury was the last checkpoint he needed to cross to lay his hands on Paul. However, as fate would have it, Fury outpointed KSI and handed him a loss. And so the fight he has been chasing for over a year is hanging by a thread. But all is not lost, as the chances of a grudge match between the two influencers on either side of the Atlantic are still alive and kicking.

Both KSI and Paul have amassed a following of tens of millions and have established themselves as global superstars. While KSI has emerged as a global entertainment icon, Paul is slowly molding himself into a combat fighter. Besides, both have mastered the art of promoting a fight.

The business side of things more than often works as an effective matchmaker in the boxing world. The hypothetical fight is a guaranteed successful PPV. Who would not like to witness a clash between two influencers who have been at each other’s throats for a while?

Despite KSI losing the bout against Tommy Fury, the younger of the Paul brothers has continued to throw shade at KSI. Therefore, keeping the traction of the fight alive. Further, their quest for a rematch against Tommy Fury might also hit a snag and eventually pave the path for their much-coveted fight.

The rematch conundrum: Tommy Fury and his lost love for crossover boxing

Both KSI and Paul are at a similar juncture in their fighting careers. Both lost a decision fight to Tommy Fury, but Paul has already rekindled his boxing career by securing a win against Nate Diaz. However, that win left a lot to be desired and didn’t satisfy the critics.

Meanwhile, KSI might look to rebound by motivating himself for a grudge fight. While both have expressed their desire to share the ring with Tommy Fury once again, ‘TNT’ has decided to move away from crossover boxing. The Love Island star wants a shot at the world title, and he is not hanging around to entertain the two influencers.

“He [KSI] goes his way, I go mine. I’m done with all this s**t. All this crossover s**t. I’m onto my next challenge now. I’m done with the bulls**t. F**k the bulls**t,” Fury declared in the post-fight interview.

It leaves both KSI and Paul stranded together, with no future fight in sight. DAZN and Misfits can work out a solution for both and capitalize on their heated rivalry.

A rivalry that needs to be settled in the ring

The animosity between KSI and Jake Paul has resulted in numerous incidents of abuse, scathing replies, and trash-talking. The situation always seems explosive whenever these two are involved. If Paul is to be believed, KSI pursued Tommy Fury to prove that he was better than the American star, but failed miserably.

“Nagh son….your entire goal was to show the world you are better than me. You repeated that like 690 times in the lead up. You didn’t accomplish sh*t other than prove no one should take you serious as a boxer,” Paul announced as he handed KSI a reality check.

It’s high time that both settle their differences in the boxing ring and decide who is the better boxer. With no Tommy Fury rematch in their plans, both are only left with each other as a more practical opponent. Until something goes north, it’s the next fight to make.
