Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr.‘s off-the-ring war seems to be pumping up. Reportedly, promoter Eddie Hearn eyes a December face-off between the two alongside a big Anthony Joshua and hopefully Deontay Wilder event. But the sons of two of British boxing’s greatest boxers don’t appear to be in the mood to wait around. With callouts to obliterate the other’s career, the social media slugfest between Benn and Eubank Jr. is whipping up a new episode in the saga every day. In the latest round, Conor Benn slammed his archrival for a woeful performance during a recent win.

Nigel Benn‘s son returned to active boxing two months ago after a year-long battle to clear his name from a doping controversy. Right around when he and Chris Eubank Jr. were scheduled to meet on October 8 last year, failure to clear drug tests saw the match getting postponed. ‘The Destroyer’ subsequently surrendered his boxing license to the BBBofC (British Boxing Board of Control). A provisional suspension from the sport was lifted in July of this year. However, he still doesn’t hold a license to box in the UK.

Conor Benn found the Chris Eubank Jr. and Liam Smith rematch way too agonizing to watch. Speaking with iFL TV, he said, “Oh, it was Pony; it was absolutely Pony. I was so bad, it was painful to watch. I was watching it, and I was just like, This is so painful to watch. You got someone who’s not capable of throwing many shots. Well, we didn’t. What was he on average five punches around or thereabouts? And what do you like? Just what’s going on here…

Sounding a bit bewildered, he continued that it was a lopsided show where nothing interesting took place. Even when (presumably) Eubank Jr. threw some punches, the overall action was barely good enough to speak about. Benn elaborated on the standards he had set for himself. When he threw punches, he wanted to ensure that the audience recognized that they saw a solid shot. He appreciated it when the spectators heard his punch loud and clear.

Just the previous day, Conor Benn called out Chris Eubank Jr., who had earlier made a comment about the former’s doping issue. ‘The Destroyer’ told ‘Next Gen’ to stay focused because when he knocked him out, he would lie flat on the canvas. Further, he also called out the very public rift between Eubank Jr. and his father, the boxing legend Chris Eubank.

Conor Benn fought Rodolfo Orozco on the Richardson Hitchins and Jose Zepada card in September. The Briton won the ten-round match unanimously. The WBC had already cleared his name from ‘intentional doping.’ However, UKAD provisionally suspended him in March. As it stands, the independent National Anti-Doping Panel has pulled him out of suspension. However, both the UKAD and the BBBofC decided to contest the decision and filed an appeal.
