Keyshawn Davis pulled off a dominant performance against Jose Pedraza on January 8 and won the fight via sixth-round technical knockout. Now, he wants the biggest fight of his career against Floyd Schofield, aka ‘Kid Austin.’ Lucky for Davis, Schofield’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, has shaken hands with him, agreeing to the fight!

Back in December last year, Schofield defeated Ricardo Lopez Torres via impressive first-round stoppage, a fight that saw Lopez kissing the canvas four times. So, the Norfolk native wrote, “A fight with Kid Austin needs to happen 2024. I think it will be legendary,” on X. And a conversation with De La Hoya on Fight Hype today seems to have granted his wish.

As Davis was speaking to Fight Hype, the head of Golden Boy Promotions appeared out of nowhere and spoke to Davis. Oscar said, “I see you with my boy Kid Austin, man you guys are going back and forth.” Seeing his opportunity, Davis asked, “Can we make it happen?” Oscar promptly responded, agreeing to the fight, “It’s great, yeah!”

However, Keyshawn Davis wasn’t content with Oscar agreeing to the matchup, so he asked, “When do you want to make it happen?” Oscar, asserting the fight “Should be this year!” [or by] the end of the year,”

So, the 24-year-old boxer stated, “Whenever you ready. I’m ready whenever [you all are] ready.” In addition, Davis even queried where the fight may take place, suggesting Vegas as the prime spot. “Yeah, this is the place,” Oscar agreed. However, Schofield isn’t the only boxer in Davis’ sights!

‘The Businessman’ Davis calls out fighters after win

After utterly dominating Pedraza in the undercard of Teofimo Lopez vs. Jamaine Ortiz – Davis called out the main eventer. It’s worth mentioning that before the fight, Lopez and Davis got into a scuffle during a press conference for the fight, and Davis was escorted out. “Teofimo [has] been doing a lot of talking lately. So hey, I go up to 140 and fight Teofimo, what’s up,” said Davis. “I’m coming [for] you and your father, so let’s set it up,” Davis added. However, he also had another name in his mind, but Davis was a lot more respectful of the other potential opponent. “If you scared Teofimo, Navarrete is a hell of a fighter. Hats off to Navarrete. It’ll be an honor to get in the ring with you,” said Davis.
