One of his sons, Evan Holyfield, happens to be a boxer. The young boxer had a promising career with a record of 11 victories and only one defeat. However, he was in the headlines after being diagnosed with a rare heart condition. His mother, unable to pay for the medical expenses, had to crowd-fund her son’s treatment.
Recently, after undergoing a life-saving heart surgery, Evan left the hospital. He is slowly making his way back into the normal world. The boxer was back at the gym in no time. Witnessing this, his mother had a heartfelt response.

His mother, Toi Jenese Irvin, a real estate agent, is a pillar of support for the son of the former heavyweight champion. In addition, she has an active social media presence and has more than 1000 followers. In a recent post, she gave an insight into his life after surgery. In the post, Holyfield appears to be healthy and even fit enough to train. He is seen skipping ropes and shadowboxing just a few weeks after his heart surgery. Reflecting on the same, she wrote, “A month ago, he had the surgery on September 19th. It is incredible to see him in the ring. Still has the power and passion.”

Right after his heart surgery, Evan Holyfield took to Instagram to share how the last few months have been for him. In addition, he expressed gratitude for his life and expressed courage and strength through tough times and remaining strong in the process. While still in the emergency room with tubes coming out of him, he stated, “I can’t help but reflect on the challenges and the strength I’ve discovered along the way. This isn’t just a medical procedure; it’s a symbol of the battles I’ve faced and the victories I’ve achieved.”
