Tyson Fury ranks as one of the heavyweight division’s all-time greats. He has fought 34 times professionally, winning 33 and drawing once. He has beaten top fighters like Derek Chisora, Otto Wallin, Wladimir Klitschko, Deontay Wilder, and Dillian Whyte. Now a significant name in boxing, Fury is fighting Francis Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, and subsequently within a few months’ time renowned boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
Furthermore, in a recent ESNews interview, promoter Bob Arum said Fury could make $200 million from these two fights. However, ‘The Gypsy King’ fighting Oleksandr Usyk is indeed news. This is because they decided to fight before, but that didn’t manifest due to issues pertaining to purse split. Now, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have inked deals for a Saudi Arabia championship fight. They might fight on December 23 or in January. Yet, some people remain skeptical about the bout. As a former champion shows almost no confidence in the fight’s manifestation.

As Nelson said, “Is it really? Let’s just wait and see. You’ve got to learn your lesson. It’s not done until it’s done. So, let’s just wait and see. Would I be surprised to see if we were to see Usyk and Fury next? Yes, I would.”
However, another former boxing champion has predicted the potential winner of the fight.
Who will reign supreme in ‘The Gypsy King’ vs. ‘The Cat’ fight?
Ricky Hatton, a former two-weight boxing champion, gave his take on the upcoming fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. He sees Fury as the likely winner and lists several reasons. These include Fury’s height, reach, and ability to switch stances. Hatton says Fury’s skills in counterpunching, leaning, and moving make him a tough opponent. He thinks Fury’s greater strength and weight tip the scales in his favor.

Yet, Hatton notes that Usyk’s smaller size and speed could be issues for Fury. He observed that Fury has mainly fought bigger fighters like Dillian Whyte and Deontay Wilder recently. Usyk’s agility could pose new challenges for Fury. In short, Hatton leans heavily towards a Fury win but admits that Usyk could make the fight interesting.
In the boxing world, the upcoming Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight stirs both excitement and skepticism. While one former champion, Ricky Hatton, backs Fury for the win, another, Johnny Nelson, urges caution, questioning if the fight will even happen. The bout promises not just a clash of titans but also a test of agility, strength, and strategy. So, as the boxing community buzzes with predictions and doubts, the real verdict will only come from the ring.
