There’s no doubt that Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are big names in the heavyweight division. Fans and experts have long discussed a potential fight between them. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, also hinted at this matchup possibly taking place in December this year. Yet, hiccups in finalizing a deal with the Saudis have stalled it. Moreover, Malik Scott, Wilder’s trainer, recently voiced his frustration about the same.
Both Joshua and Wilder are former heavyweight champions. While Wilder lost his heavyweight title to Tyson Fury, AJ lost his belts to Oleksandr Usyk. A fight between them could have stirred up the heavyweight division. However, reportedly, the December date for the bout stands canceled, sending ripples in the boxing community. This news comes from Eddie Hearn who is one of the key negotiators involved in the fight seeing the light of day. Furthermore, fans are fuming over the recent developments.

Is Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder not likely to happen?
In a recent interview with IFL TV, Hearn said, “You know what we wanna do – we wanna fight Deontay Wilder…We know it’s not materialized now. Because it was made by someone who couldn’t deliver the fight at that time. It’s alright, that happens…We’d agreed, Wilder had agreed, now we’re talking to other sites about that fight in February or March and that’s still the plan, very much the plan.”
Hearn recently said they received a new hosting offer from another country for the Joshua vs Wilder fight in February or March. However, he didn’t specify the country or say if they accepted the offer.
Regardless, Joshua might fight again this year to stay active. Subsequently, fans have expressed their disapproval of the fight’s planning to the extent of declaring it a publicity act.
Fans think AJ vs. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ is a sham
Embarking on the spree of viewpoints, a fan laments the years of waiting, sarcastically asking where the “boxing titan” is who told them to be patient.
Same shit different day…. Where's that boxing titan guy that told me to stop being impatient like we havnt been waiting for these two fight almost 5/6 years.

Building on this, another fan criticized the fighters for prioritizing financial gains over the integrity of the sport. They argued that the allure of “Saudi money” is taking away the essence of boxing, suggesting that matches should be held in traditional venues like the UK or Vegas instead.
These fighters need to stop chasing the Saudi money and act like proper boxers for the good of the sport. Do it in the UK or Vegas How much money does one person need?

Moreover, another fan went so far as to say that Eddie Hearn is a “liar.”
Who cares we already know Eddie a liar

Adding fuel to the fire, another user claimed that Hearn and AJ were never genuinely interested in certain fights and were merely using them as a publicity stunt. They recalled a past instance where a fight with Tyson Fury was bypassed due to financial disagreements, implying that it was all a calculated move to avoid stronger opponents.
Hearn and AJ were never interested in this fight. They were just using it to build attention around their trash fight against Helenius..
Remember when they couldn’t accept 40% to fight Tyson Fury in September because Wilder was locked in for December?

Furthermore, a user mocked the heavyweight division by calling it a “joke,” marred by delays, financial greed, and a lack of genuine competition.
