“My Lil Bro Pimp Slapped Yo Son”: Adrien Broner Adds Fuel to Erickson Lubin Saga in Retaliation to Devin Haney’s Father

Adrien Broner is back in the spotlight, making waves on Instagram with a no-holds-barred challenge to Bill Haney. The fiery call-out is aimed at none other than Devin Haney, the undisputed lightweight champion and current 140-pound titlist. And it comes on the heels of some dismissive comments made by Bill Haney in a recent video.

Broner reminded Bill Haney about the time when his cousin Erickson Lubin had an alleged altercation with his son Devin Haney. So, he tried to put Haney’s team in their place while showcasing his prowess in his recent Instagram story.

In an interview, Bill Haney responded to the callout from Broner. So, ‘The Problem’ asked Bill to send a contract so that he could square up against his son, however, his response didn’t support Broner’s plan. Bill said, “AB, you once represented the respect of boxing, the respect of the hood. Don’t worry about it, AB. We gon’ take it over from here. It’s the Devin Haney era. And you knew that we was going to pull up. It’s business; it’s not personal.”

For obvious reasons, this didn’t sit well with Broner. So he brought up the time when his younger cousin, Erickson Lubin, allegedly slapped Devin Haney while reacting to the statements of Bill Haney. On his Instagram Story, Broner wrote, “My little bro pimp slapped yo son and yall trying to f**k with me @billhaney.“

Well, this slap incident doesn’t have a lot of witnesses, but recently on X, even Lubin’s father Kevin Cunningham, talked about how his son threw his hands at Devin Haney.

Erickson Lubin’s father assures the ‘slap’ story

The narration of the alleged confrontation between Devin Haney and Erickson Lubin raises some eyebrows, lacking a coherent and detailed account of the events. There’s nothing of substance beyond mentioning that Haney got smacked. It’s worth noting that this incident supposedly occurred years ago during their time at the Olympic training center as younger athletes.

Adding to the intrigue, Moses, Lubin’s manager, advocating for a fight between Haney and Lubin seems peculiar, especially when considering that Haney recently transitioned to junior welterweight. The suggestion of moving up two weight divisions for such a bout appears highly improbable. However, Kevin Cunningham stays adamant about the story, as he also wrote about it on Twitter.
