Sylvester Stallone left no stone unturned when it came to teaching his daughters to be independent. That might really be an understatement. From calling them to make sure they return home from their dates before nightfall to downright intimidating the guys his daughters brought home, the Rocky star went out of his way to protect his daughters. However, another new bit of information shows just how close to “insane” the actor-father might be when it comes to his daughters.

Stallone, having experienced a challenging relationship with his own father while growing up, embraced the role of being a father himself as one of the most significant responsibilities of his life. So what do his daughters have to say about his parenting?

In the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Fallon shared a small clip from the 2nd Season of ‘The Family Stallone’, a reality TV show featuring the Stallone family, the 2nd season of which will premiere on Paramount+ on the 21st of February.

In the clip, the actor’s daughters explained one by one the kind of father Sly really was. Turns out, Stallone might have overdone parenting a little bit. “Honestly, my dad is the most paranoid person on the planet.” “He is crazy.” “Growing up, we had to learn how to fight off coyotes,” explained his daughters taking turns. Why the allegation? Stallone made sure his daughters were strong enough to take on any danger that came their way and emerge without a scratch. His measure however were not the usual ones.

“He always made them over-prepared,” recalled his wife. “Oh he’s so annoying when he’s nervous.” “He made us practice proper spray each other. He put a little knife in my backpack in fourth grade,” revealed his daughters.

Sly would even show them pictures of accidents to train them how to deal with challenging situations. From making them fight off coyotes to placing knives in their backpacks for safety, Stallone was determined to keep his girls safe. However, it was not without its challenges. Not long ago, Stallone shared the adversities he faced while raising his daughters.

The time Stallone was embarrassed of himself

In a candid discussion with his daughters on their podcast Unwaxed, Sylvester Stallone opened up about his struggles with unemployment and feeling worthless during a career downturn in the post-2000s era. Stallone admitted feeling embarrassed as a father when work dried up and emphasized the importance of family during tough times. Reflecting on the experience, he acknowledged feeling abandoned by supposed friends and believed his career was over when opportunities dwindled. “I was embarrassed to be your father. I felt so worthless. You didn’t even really know what I did for a living,” he said.

Despite this, Stallone shared plans to revive his iconic 1986 cop thriller ‘Cobra’ as a streaming television series, recognizing its enduring legacy of blending rock ‘n’ roll with drama. However, he expressed regret for not fully capitalizing on the character due to personal obstacles. Stallone revealed aspirations to resurrect the concept with a new twist, mentioning the possibility of a ‘zombie squad’ in the series.
