Tyson is an inspiration to many boxers around the world. But who inspired him? Well, it is none other than, Robert Duran. The 72-year-old had a celebrated career that lasted for decades. After retiring in the year 2001, he had an impressive record of 106 victories but only 16 defeats. Moreover, he had a unique style of fighting that intrigued many and has over 66% of knockout ratio. Ahead of the Fury vs. Ngannou clash, Tyson crossed paths with him and took a picture with him.
While posting the picture on his Instagram story, he revealed that the legendary boxer is his favorite fighter and has inspired him over the years. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “Last night’s night before fight gala. Wanted my kids to meet my favorite fighter Roberto Duran. His style inspired me the most.”
Tyson was inspired by him due to the intimidating aura he had back when he was competing. Even in the past, he confessed his desire to be a boxer like him, both inside and outside of the ring.
