Ryan Garcia has been having the worst time of his life. At least, that’s what his recent social media activity suggests. The Mexican-American boxing star is about to fight Devin Haney on April 20 in New York. However, before the fight, Garcia has taken the internet by storm because of his bizarre, out-of-this-world claims!

Amid all this, a young rising star from Mexico, Emiliano Vargas, has expressed his thoughts on Garcia’s situation. The 19-year-old prospect even brought up a line from the legendary Mike Tyson to explain Garcia’s situation. However, he also branded Garcia a “fake Mexican” while appearing in an interview with Fight Hype today!

Speaking to Vargas, Sean Zittel from Fight Hype brought up Garcia’s situation, asking about Vargas’ thoughts on the whole thing. Having the same Mexican lineage as Garcia, Vargas felt a sense of belonging as he said, “My prayers go out to him, man. Look: If it’s a publicity stunt, it’s [a] publicity stunt. But at the end of the day – there might be some truth to it.”

Vargas suggested stepping on the biggest stage in the world and giving one’s best can produce anxiety, and the same thing could be happening to Garcia. “I think sometimes, as fans, you got to put yourself in that predicament. You’re talking about the biggest stages in the world…It’s those nerves, it’s anxiety, it’s just everything behind it, man.”

He then proceeded to quote Mike Tyson, stating, “Like Mike Tyson said, ‘the closer you get to the ring, the more he feels like a god.’” Even still, Vargas sent well wishes if Garcia was really going through a tough time. And if not, “It’s just hyping up a fight,” said Vargas. Later in the interview, when asked whether he would be a better match for Ryan Garcia than his brother Fernando Vargas Jr., Emiliano agreed.

Recollecting the time when his father, Fernando Vargas, fought Oscar De La Hoya in 2002, Emiliano claimed, “Yeah, definitely. I think it’s like Oscar De La Hoya and Fernando Vargas. The real Mexican vs. the fake Mexican.” Moreover, Emiliano Vargas isn’t alone in being concerned about Garcia.

Andre Ward has a simple solution for Ryan Garcia

Speaking to TMZ Sports on 10 March, the undefeated retired boxer Andre Ward offered a solution to Garcia’s meltdown on social media. He suggested that Garcia should stay as far as possible from social media. In addition, Ward claimed the people around and closest to Garcia should take charge to help the Victorville native.
