The boxing world witnessed a masterclass of a performance by Artur Beterbiev. The lineal light-heavyweight champion fought and defeated Callum Smith Jr via a stoppage. Before the fight was officially called, the British Boxer suffered several knockdowns before he was ultimately stopped in the seventh round. This fight was paramount for both fighters, as it would potentially set up an undisputed title fight against Dmitry Bivol.
Beterbiev’s performance has left the boxing world in awe of the 38-year-old Russo-Canadian. Many notable personalities thought that Beterbiev would falter and that Smith would get the job done, including Eddie Hearn. However, after his win, another notable personality of the sport weighed in on his performance.

Artur Beterbiev is a ‘killa’
Mayweather Promotions CEO, Leonard Ellerbe, after witnessing the bout took to X. to react to the light-heavyweight fight. The Promoter is quite an active user on social media and often shares his opinion on various sports affairs. In his tweet, he lauded the champion for once again, proving himself to be a class apart from even formidable boxers like Smith. He made it a point to make sure that the world took notice of his performance by tweeting, “Beterbiev is a killa.”

It is safe to say that Ellerbe is a fan of Beterbiev and rightfully so. His skills demand respect, but is he the best in the division? Bob Arum, the promoter of Beterbiev, and Turki Alalshikh, the head of sports and entertainment for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have shown interest in the undisputed title fight being held in Riyadh. Michael Benson took to X and reported the same, wherein he stated, “Bob Arum has declared that he will be speaking to His Excellency Turki Alalshikh to make Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev next. I’ve just been sent an instant reply from HE: ‘His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has a message to his father Bob Arum – let’s do it’.”
