Terence Crawford recently responded to Gervonta Davis claiming he would knock ‘Bud’ out within 6 rounds at 147. While Crawford understood Davis received his confidence from “knocking all these fighters out“, the two-time undisputed champion suggested that he would beat up the “little guy” that ‘Tank’ is. Although ‘Bud’ called a shift from 135 to 147 “a big jump“, he simultaneously declared he would “stay at 147” for the potential “big money fight” with Gervonta Davis.
In his recent tweet, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe announced how “dumb and stupid ” it would be if ‘Tank’ gained 12 lbs and moved to 147. Hence, calling out “dumba** narrative” built around ‘Tank’ willing to fight Crawford at 147, Ellerbe pointed out that Davis was “joking“. Here is what Ellerbe completely said.

After ‘Tank’ declared that he would KO Crawford, ‘Bud’ assured the former that he would wait for him at 147. “ I’ll stay at 147 for him because that’s a big money fight. It’s a big money fight,” Crawford said. As per Crawford’s words, “Tank’ is deluded to think he has a chance against the two-time-undisputed champion of the world. “You know, and if he comes up to 147 and he’s thinking he’s just gonna knock Terence Crawford out, he got another thing coming,” Crawford added. After Boxing Scene published Crawford’s statement, Ellerbe wrote, “Y’all need to stop with this dumbass narrative“.
Y’all need to stop with this dumbass narrative, someone took a quote but left off the ending when he said he was joking and ran with it for a headline. Tank is a fkn 35 pounder why tf would he be trying to move to 47 to fight him it’s just dumb and stupid. https://t.co/jCGzpqMMiZ

In addition, Ellerbe suggested that ‘Tank’ was joking when he declared he would fight Crawford in the sport. “Someone took a quote but left off the ending when he said he was joking and ran with it for a headline,” Ellerbe stated. In his opinion, it is unreasonable that Davis would move up to 147 although he is a 35-pounder. Hopefully, Davis would soon clarify whether or not he actually wanted to face ‘Bud’.
