Teofimo Lopez scored a convincing victory over Josh Taylor in June. But the newly crowned WBO and Ring Light Welterweight champion shocked the world by announcing his retirement from boxing. But thankfully, the Honduran-American boxer didn’t take much time to go back over and declare a return a few weeks later. However, he could claim only a part of the spoils. The Ring magazine belts reportedly are still his.
So he took to his X account, voicing the concern that he has yet to receive the Junior Welterweight or Light Welterweight belt from The Ring. Lopez mentioned his seriousness about pursuing the matter. He also added that he owed it to his son, who should be aware of his famous father’s triumphs and accomplishments. But fans, as it appeared, weren’t impressed, as they started sharing their viewpoints.

Stop cribbing! Fans tell Teofimo Lopez
The following user seems to firmly believe in calling a spade a spade. They asked whether Teofimo Lopez ever worries that he isn’t quite as capable as he gives himself credit for being.
you ever think.. maybe you're not as good as you think you are

This fan criticized Lopez. They also clarified that the boxer won’t be able to sell a single PPV subscription since barely anyone knows who he is. He is not worthy of The Ring magazine’s title. Perhaps it would do him good to reach out to someone like Ryan Garcia. The latter would help him pick some pointers on attracting new, casual fans, which will help him increase his popularity. Hence, to ask for the Ring magazine belt would be too much.
Your a bozo NOBODY knows you u can't even sell a ppv. U don't deserve a ring magazine. Call up @RyanGarcia and take some tips on how to grow a fanbase to bring it casuals to help make boxing bigger. Until then u dubbed on that ring magazine belt

The following user also took a direct approach. He said he shouldn’t go into hiding when Devin Haney defeats Regis Prograis and marches to challenge Lopez’s WBO belt.
aye when devin beats regis and calls you out next don’t run bitch

According to this fan, Teofimo Lopez would, in all probability, end up in a fight that would, at best, fetch him somewhere near $700,000. Had the user been in his place, his attempt would have been to pull in a fight against someone like Gervonta Davis to ensure a top-notch payday.
Bro is is gonna go back to making 700k a fight fighting Joze Ramirez💀
If i were you i would try and make the Tank fight happen next💪💰🔥

But this seems to differ from the rest of the crowd. They believe that credit should be given where it’s due. In its absence, Teofimo Lopez will have to continue going after the likes of Josh Taylor to build up his legacy.
They not tryna give credit where credits due so you'll just have to keep killing them josh taylor style family lol you know you could anyway n easily with fashion

Teofimo Lopez truly deserves a chance in the larger scheme of things. In the past, he took a master technician like Vasyl Lomachenko to task. Later, he defeated a former undisputed champion in a higher-weight division. He stands a better chance to consolidate his legacy besides taking home hefty purses. More so, with a better footing in the 140-pound division, who knows, a match against Devin Haney, Regis Prograis, or even a resurgent Ryan Garcia might be in the offing for him.
