BJ Flores took to X (formerly Twitter) to write,  “May GOD BLESS Mike Strafford and his family. One of the true greats who I will forever regret not getting a chance to say 1 final goodbye. I had known him since I was a 14 year old boy and was always so excited when I got a chance to see him. May GOD rest his soul.”

Indeed, Flores’ message is a reflection of his remorse and misery about the demise of the legend. Stafford changed his community and steered youth away from a life of crime into boxing. This path brightened many futures, including Broner’s. Thus, Broner is having a hard time processing the demise of his beloved coach.
