A morning routine that Canelo Alvarez diligently follows during a training camp seems to have left Ryan Garcia puzzled. The P4P legend is in deep preparation for the Jaime Munguia fight. The duo will battle it out on May 4, the Cinco de Mayo weekend, for the former’s undisputed title. The prelude to the fight saw most of the fans hanging in suspense, eager to know who their icon would be fighting next. With Munguia winning the race to what could be the biggest payday of his career, the fight has begun garnering attention for reasons spanning both in the boxing ring and beyond.
In the latest, fans watch their favorite boxing icon follow his strict regimen. No prizes for guessing, as a teeming number of fans poured their hearts out in the comment box. Among them was Ryan Garcia. However, he didn’t fail to notice one striking feature. He wasted no time in eagerly raising his hand to ask a question. So in the post shared some time ago, Canelo Alvarez wrote (in Mexican Spanish), “Rutina matutina, de 40°C a 5°C #CaneloMunguia.”
It roughly translates to “Morning Grind, 40°C to 5°C #CaneloMunguia.” The P4P great lets fans get a glimpse of the pattern that he follows at the beginning of the day. Wearing a purple beanie cap and a white bathrobe, the opening sequence of the attached video shows him smiling and displaying the middle finger to an assistant. The latter walks towards him with a pair of house slippers. The world champion says, “The days, motherf***ers.“

The next shot shows him getting into a water tub. It’s placed outside, amidst an icy expanse, with beautiful trees surrounding it. After spending some time in the tub, he comes out. Still wearing the beanie cap, he walks towards the next destination. Alvarez mutters in between, “It is very temperate that we have to get out of our comfort zone to start the day 100%.“

Then, taking a short dip, he sits in the much smaller tub. The following shot shows him executing breathing techniques: short and fast inhales and exhales from the mouth. “This is a breathing exercise to activate the body early in the morning,” he says.
As he comes out, an assistant hands him a towel and his bathrobe. The undisputed champion quips, “I’m going to hug a tree.” The final shot depicts him approaching a large tree and embracing it.

While expressing his love for Alvarez, in pure jest, Ryan Garcia asked, “My only question is why you got the beanie on?? Love you, big bro.”
Closing the long-drawn beef he had with the Mexican icon and his team a few days ago, Ryan Garcia wrote a lengthy passage. He thanked the world champion for his support and wise counsel. As most fans might remember, Garcia and Alvarez were part of Eddy Reynoso‘s stable for a long time. But over time, the young Californian boxer, feeling a need for a bit more personalized attention, decided to part ways. Subsequently, he took Joe Goossen as trainer.
As he stares at another big match of his career, Ryan Garcia must have felt the need for brotherly guidance. With Canelo Alvarez by his side now, he couldn’t have asked for more.
