Regis Prograis just went off at the official weigh-in of Prograis vs. Devin Haney. As the crowd rooted for ‘The Dream’ and discouraged Regis, the latter almost metamorphosed himself into the Conor McGregor who’d confronted ‘TBE.’

However, following the words that Regis flung at the crowd, several boxing fans questioned his mindset and strengthened their faith in Haney. Anyway, here is what happened at the weigh-in that led Regis to grab a mic and insult an entire crowd ahead of his WBC Super Lightweight title defense on December 9.

Since the weigh-in took place in San Francisco, California where Devin Haney was born, the majority of the crowd was there to throw their cheers at the feet of ‘The Dream.’ Likewise, when Prograis arrived on the dais, silence and discouraging words greeted him. For example, while he and Haney intensely stared into one another’s eyes, one could hear a provocative remark such as “And the new…” being targeted at champion Regis. However, Prograis and his coach fought back at the weigh-in.

While Prograis’ coach Evnis Tobler promised that Haney’s chin would be touched on December 9, Regis grabbed the mic and cursed the crowd. “F**k the Haneys, f**k y’all, y’all are crackheads,” he told the attendants. In this context, after talkSPORT correspondent Michael Benson shared the brief clip on X, several fans wondered if Regis was nervous ahead of the fight against Haney.

Before facing Floyd Mayweather in ‘The Money Fight,’ Conor McGregor, at one of the face-offs, orchestrated the crowd into saying “F**k the Mayweathers.” Well, it looked like Regis uttered the same script as ‘The Notorious’ ahead of facing Haney. At this, one fan uploaded the old clip of McGregor and compared the same to the actions of Regis:

Meanwhile, one claimed Regis lost the fight before it even started.

According to one, Haney will win via a split decision.

On the other hand, one argued that it was New Orleans which came out of Regis.
