Conor Benn vs. Chris Eubank Jr. is one of the most anticipated fights of the year, especially because of the generational rivalry between their fathers. In the 90’s, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn faced each other in two brutal fights. Eubank Sr. won the first fight, and the second one came to a draw. So, the fight between their sons would have settled the rivalry once and for all.

However, the all-British clash between Benn and Eubank Jr. keeps getting postponed. Initially, the fight was scheduled for October 8, 2022, in the O2 Arena. However, Benn tested positive for banned substances, which resulted in the fight getting canceled. Nevertheless, the fight is getting rescheduled as Eddie Hearn recently claimed the potential fight would happen in December or January next year. So, Benn recently turned to X (formerly Twitter) to address Eubank Jr. while making an audacious declaration.

In the tweet in question, Benn asserted that domestic English fights are what fans want to see. “Domestic fights are what the fans love,” Benn wrote. He even went on to claim that their fight is what British boxing needs right now. “And what British boxing needs,” wrote Benn. It’s worth noting that the BBBofC has not sanctioned the fight yet. Without their go-ahead, the fight is unlikely to happen in Britain.

However, Conor Benn seems adamant about having the fight in the UK, as he calls out Eubank Jr. for the fight. “@ChrisEubankJr Let’s f**king go,” wrote the undefeated boxer. Moreover, Eddie Hearn, Conor’s promoter, is trying his hardest to negotiate with the BBBofC to host the fight in the UK itself. Given the history between the two boxers, the UK is the only place the fight should happen. Yet, it’s yet to be seen if BBBofC sanctions the fight.

While the date of the fight still remains shrouded in mystery due to all the complications, Tony Bellew has chosen his favorite for the fight. Benn recently made his comeback to boxing after being suspended for over a year. In his return, Benn took on the Mexican boxer Rodolfo Orozco, taking home the win via unanimous decision win.

What’s more, the former boxer also asserted whenever Benn and Eubank Jr. get in the ring, they will sell every seat. “Whenever them two boys come together in a boxing ring, they will sell every single seat possible wherever they go,” said Bellew.
