The fight talks between Jaron Ennis and Terence Crawford have officially been discarded! “He don’t bring nothing to the table,” Crawford’s trainer, Brian McIntyre, said in an interview. Meanwhile, Showtime executive, Stephen Espinoza, defended Ennis for not fighting since July last year.

In a recent pinch, a user shared an interview with Bozy Ennis, who claimed Mario Barrios was the only fighter who accepted the challenge to fight Jaron Ennis. The bout was supposed to be on March 30, but Barrios demanded more time. So, they are aiming for a fight in the undercard of Canelo Alvarez’s Cinco de Mayo May 5th fight. Espinoza retweeted the interview, claiming it was “Facts.” However, a user commented, “Another inactive PBC fighter,” and this did not sit well with Espinoza.

Responding to the PBC fighter comment from the user, Espinoza claimed, “Y’all dudes have no clue. Boots isn’t even a PBC fighter.” He also revealed that three fighters have either pulled out or postponed a fight against Jaron Ennis in the last six months. So, he condemned the people, claiming Ennis didn’t want to fight.

“And y’all like he’s not trying [to] fight regularly. You social media “experts” and “insiders” are ridiculous,” wrote Espinoza. It’s worth mentioning that Ennis last appeared in the ring against Roiman Villa in July 2023, winning the fight via tenth round victory. He was also elevated as the Interim IBF welterweight champion after it was stripped from Crawford following a win over Errol Spence Jr. Moreover, despite what Espinoza claims, one fighter is willing to face Ennis.

According to a recent report from Boxing Scene, Jamal James is willing to fight Jaron Ennis. “If the opportunity is presented and I got the time to train for it, then I’m a take it,” James told Tha Boxing Voice. “You can’t pass up opportunities like that,” he said. It’s worth mentioning that James’ activity in the ring has been a bit spotty lately.

He last appeared in the ring against Alberto Palmetta in February last year and in October 2021 before that. He lost the October fight against Radzhab Butaev, starting over a year-long hiatus. At this point, another year is about to pass James as he did not fight after Palmetta. So, he said, “I would like to obviously get back in the ring and measure myself one more time before I call any type of big name.”
