The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight has taken the internet by storm! The headlining fight will unfold on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Texas and be broadcast on Netflix. This will be the streaming service’s blockbuster entry into boxing. However, there seems to be some misinformation floating around the internet about the clash. Therefore, Jake Paul has stepped forward to clear the air about the rules in the fight today through social media.
A few days ago, Derek Chisora, who isn’t connected to the fight in any way, claimed, “I know for a fact they are using 18oz gloves and head guards if I’m not mistaken,” during an interview with Seconds Out. However, this, according to Jake Paul and his business partner Nakisa Bidarian, is completely false.

Turning to Instagram, Bidarian wrote in his story, “Unequivocally, there is no headgear for Paul vs Tyson. Haters [are] spreading fake news, but it won’t stop the 10’s of millions of views.” Soon afterward, ‘The Problem Child’ shared his business partner’s story on his own Instagram account. What’s more, even Ariel Helwani has spoken out about the rules of the fight. During Helwani’s MMA Hour podcast, he said, “They’re still working on a few important details based on the conversations I’ve had.”
Speaking about the involvement of head guards, Healwani claimed, “I was told there’s absolutely no headgear involved. This is going to look like your typical boxing match.” Meanwhile, a UFC legend whom the ‘Problem Child’ tried to lure into a fight albeit unsuccessfully, has given his verdict on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.
