Jermall Charlo has a few words of advice for David Benavidez. On November 25, ‘The Mexican Monster,’ will make his return to the ring for the first time after his unanimous victory against Caleb Plant. Moreover, this bout is peculiar for reasons more than one, especially for Benavidez. On the undercard, his older brother, José Benavidez Jr. is set to face Charlo.
It is seldom that we get to witness the Benavidez brothers fight on the same card. So, what does Jermall have to say about this arrangement?

According to Charlo, brothers fighting on the same card can do more bad than good. In a recent interview, he asserts that the ‘Mexican Monster,’ would be discouraged to see his brother get beaten by him. He used his own example as he had witnessed his brother,
Jermell Charlo while he was fighting Tony Harrison back in 2018.Reflecting on the same, he stated,
“I fought on a card with my brother, it’s not that easy. If I knock his brother(Jose) out cold before he(David) gets in the ring he’ll be thinking about that too. So everybody gets a chance to see how I felt whenever my brother took a loss(against Tony Harrison).”The underlying premise of Charlo is that he would defeat José Benavidez Jr. However, if the older Benavidez brother wins the contest, then it would be encouraging for the ‘Mexican Monster,’ to compete. Moreover, one should not construe that Charlo is not short of any confidence.
An “Anxious” Charlo reflects on his fight against José Benavidez Jr.
Charlo is an undefeated and acclaimed boxer. However, it bears mention that he has been gravely inactive in recent years. This leads to the question, will he be anxious to compete again? The answer is yes. He
was candid about his state of mind when in an interview as he stated, “I’m a little anxious, a little nervous. I’m questioning myself too. Coming off a long layoff, how would I perform?”ADVERTISEMENT
