In a swift match on Saturday at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Filip Hrgović showcased his dominance over Mark De Mori. Despite De Mori’s boasts, Croatia’s Hrgovic, an Olympic Bronze medalist, delivered a powerful right hand and ended the bout in just 1:46 into the first round with a TKO win. However, he took the chance and fired shots at Jared Anderson hinting at the possible fight between the two.

Filip Hrgovic calls out Jared Anderson

With this victory against an opponent who boaster over 41 wins throughout his career, Filip Hrgovic has showcased his astounding skills. However, he doesn’t intend to stop anywhere soon. With the win, he has already set his eyes on his next target. Boxing reporter Michael Benson recently shared Hrgovic’s statement after his recent victory. The reporter hinted that Hrgovic might even end up fighting for “the vacant IBF heavyweight world title.”

He claimed that the winner between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will “drop the belt due to their rematch clause.” Moreover, he also revealed, “Asked about the possibility of Jared Anderson as his opponent if Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder face each other as planned, Hrgovic says: ‘Jared Anderson is for breakfast. For this kid it’s not smart to fight with me.'” It seems that Hrgovic is planning to ruin Anderson’s squeaky-clean record after this victory.

Hrgovic fulfills his promise to De Mori

It seems that Hrgovic was successful in his prediction prior to the bout. As the two prepared to enter the ring, the Croatian boxer had shared that his intention for the fight was to end it short. He stated, “Look, I was going to let him box for the first few rounds. But because of his nasty words, I will need to punish him earlier. He has some Croatian roots. I planned to be nice to him.”

However, after the exchange, it seems Hrgovic changed his plans and made plans to give it his all. He proclaimed, “But this changed everything. I need to punish this guy. I mean, really bad. Like he stole something. That’s the plan.”
