Gervonta Davis came face-to-face with Isaac Cruz back in December 2021. After twelve rounds of nail-biting action, ‘Tank’ Davis took home the win via unanimous decision. Ever since then, ‘Pitbull’ Cruz and his team have been angling for a rematch against Davis. Besides avenging his defeat, Cruz stands to gain a lucrative amount of the purse split. So, when he saw Floyd Mayweather recently, Cruz decided to take his shot and demand a rematch. When did it happen?
During the recent showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Jermell Charlo, Cruz caught up with Floyd and made his wish known. It’s worth mentioning that Mayweather’s promotion company (Money Team) used to promote Davis. But the two went their separate ways in May 2022. Despite that fact, Cruz decided to ask Floyd, “You wanna do that fight again?” While Floyd did not answer Cruz, speculations have been floating on the internet for quite a while. Nevertheless, Cruz’s blunt approach to seeking a rematch did not sit well with the boxing world.
