Many eyes were rolled when John Gotti III charged toward Floyd Mayweather Jr., and what was supposed to be like any other exhibition fight turned into a brawl between both sides. One noticeable thing during the brawl that caught the fans’ eye was how calm Mayweather Jr was. The calmness can be credited to his experience inside the boxing ring. But, it seems like the member of the Gotti family thinks otherwise. Gotti III felt the after-shocks of the brawl as he was suspended for losing his cool after being disqualified from the fight. However, recently Gotti made another claim about the former five-division world champion.

The 31-year-old recently made an appearance on MMAFighting with Ariel Helwani. He spoke about his brawl with Mayweather Jr and also opened up regarding losing his cool.

While talking about the brawl and how everybody jumped in on the scene, Gotti III spoke about the number of people inside the ring at the time. Revealing the odds, he said, “I would say about 60-40 in Floyd’s favor.” He further went on to talk about how calm the former champion was throughout the fiasco.

Gotti III said, “He was sitting on the ropes, smiling and having a good time. It’s easy acting tough guy when you have 6 ft 8 bodyguards bum-rushing everyone else. “ The 31-year-old talked about his side of the story. And how everyone on his side, irrespective of their size, rushed to help him. “Some of my family and sparring partners are half the size, but they stood their ground and did what they had to do. “

The MMA fighter talked about another dynamic of the brawl and reeled in the monetary factor. Talking about everyone who jumped in to save him, he said, “They are not getting paid for it; they did it out of love for me. Floyd is paying his security to help him.”

The brawl did not end inside the boxing ring but turned into bad blood. Both families got involved with Gotti’s sister warning Mayweather Jr’s daughter. And, amid that, Gotti III called regarded Mayweather Jr as an “enemy for life.” But, he clarified this comment regarding him. He said, “I said he was my enemy for life out of anger. He’s not my enemy.”

Gotti III further revealed that he still respects ‘Pretty Boy’ and that the former champion did a “phenomenal” job in the fight.
