When your lineage is one that of champions, you get a target on your back. Chris Eubank Jr, son of the great Chris Eubank Sr is one of the best boxers in his category. The 34-year-old boasts a record of 33-3-0 and suffered his last loss against Liam Smith who he defeated in a rematch 8 months later. Now Conor Benn has set his gaze upon Eubank. But their fight does not seem to be taking shape.

Eubank Sr has been against them fighting ever since the topic came under the spotlight. He does not want his son to cut down in weight that much, as Benn and Eubank fight several weight classes away.  According to the retired champion, For a man to cut down 27-pounds, is taking his life. But, Someone who really does want the fight to happen is Eddie Hearn. Recently he called out Chris Eubank, stating that he was ducking Benn. Eubank took a shot back at him. Eddie Hearn says Chris Eubank Jr is afraid of Conor Benn

In a post-fight interview, Hearn asked, “Chris Eubank Jr. What the fu*k is your problem.” referring to why he won’t fight Conor Benn. Talking about Conor Benn, Hearn said, “That guy right there, Conor Benn has to come up two divisions to fight you. He was in with a small 154 pounder tonight, who couldn’t put a dent in him.” Hearn further asked Eubank again as to why he won’t fight Benn despite being offered millions of dollars. To all of this, Eubank Jr replied with a famous clip of Jerry Maguire.

The clip features Tom Cruise screaming “SHOW ME THE MONEY” multiple times. This was Eubank’s way to say that he was ready for the fight. He captioned his post writing, “Jerry… I mean Eddie… you have my number you can call me anytime & this is exactly how the conversation will go, I got Bob ‘Arum’ on the other line… I BETTER HERE YOU SAY IT!!!” saying how he has Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank on the line to score a fight with him. While the boxer beefs with Hearn, hiss father has something to say about him redeeming himself.

The father and son have split up since long as they disagreed on many decisions regarding the Jr’s career. Eubank Sr has been adamant about his son fighting Benn. He even said, “It doesn’t make sense how they would put so much energy into producing another fight, knowing that I said it’s not gonna happen.” When the fight against Benn went down the drain, Eubank fought Liam Smith and lost. Even though he came back and redeemed himself, his father seems to think he has not done enough.

Eubank Sr said, “Let’s get to the point, Canelo is the only person he’s gonna be able to fight now to redeem any type of respect from the fighting public.” talking about gaining respect back after his loss. The retired champ said, “Junior, this is what my view is – your saving grace is going to be Canelo.” saying Canelo is his one shot. He proceeded to say, “The only way you can beat him is if daddy is next to you. That’s it.”
