Crawford is just a couple of days away from facing Errol Spence Jr. in Las Vegas. The fight is a spectacle in the sport, and the welterweight titan is making rounds in the media for the promotions. In a new episode of ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson,” the former heavyweight champion interviewed Crawford. During the episode, Tyson talked about the fact that he enjoys seeking constant affirmation from fans around the world.

However, Crawford revealed that his true motivation was never to be loved by people. His sole motivation was to achieve financial notoriety. In the podcast, he stated, “Not me; I never wanted that. I always wanted the money. You can keep the fame; you keep all that.”

Tyson was startled to hear this and mentioned that he has a completely different mindset. He credits his desire to be acclaimed by the fans to his insecurity. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “Really? I am the total opposite. I am such an insecure f*ck. You can keep the money. Tell me I am the greatest ever.”

To which Crawford weighed in on his perspective again and stated, “You ain’t gotta tell me I am greatest ever. I know I am great in my heart. So you ain’t gotta tell me nothing, just give me the cheque.”

It is safe to say that Crawford does not need any validation from the fans. Neither is he seeking fame, and in the same episode, he dwells on enjoying life with his close circle.

Why does Terence Crawford not want fame?

Some celebrities enjoy being recognized and chased down in public. While some celebrities vehemently disdain the attention. Crawford, on the other hand, falls into the latter category, as he would rather enjoy his time without any public limelight. “You can have the limelight; I do not want it. I love being able to go out in restaurants and eat and enjoy my family.”
