Devin Haney is set for a homecoming in the Bay Area as he aims to become a two-division champion. His fight against WBC junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis, initially scheduled for October 28 in Las Vegas, will now take place on December 9 at San Francisco’s Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors’ home venue, according to sources. The Prograis-Haney bout will be streamed on DAZN pay-per-view.
Devin Haney comprehends the rarity of becoming an undisputed champion in the Light Welterweight division. If he achieves this, he’ll be the second male boxer, following Terence Crawford, to do so. Prograis, holding the WBC belt, stands as the initial challenge in this pursuit. The champion has taken yet another shot at Haney for his training videos and physique after mocking him for training with Freddie Roach. What has ‘Rougarou’ said now?

Haney is leaving no aspect untouched in his preparation for a heavy hitter like Prograis, focusing on both conditioning and techniques. He posted a photo for his followers on X, previously known as Twitter, flaunting his carved physique. He even shared his training with Manny Pacquiao’s coach earlier. However, none of it fazed a determined Prograis.
He live in the weight room for the next 3 years and that shit ain’t gonna matter. If you can’t punch you just can’t punch. I’m gonna hurt this lil soft ass boy https://t.co/aPIFehh7Wt

“He live in the weight room for the next 3 years and that sh*t ain’t gonna matter. If you can’t punch you just can’t punch. I’m gonna hurt this lil soft a** boy” Prograis emphasized the lack of punching power in Haney’s arms. He is positive that Haney’s soft punches would not stand a chance against him.

The 24-year-old boxer, Haney, usually trains with his father Bill and Ben Davison. However, he has added extra training sessions with Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao’s long-time coach, despite Roach’s battle with Parkinson’s. Prograis criticized Haney’s punching power, downplaying the impact of Haney’s increased muscle mass.
He also mocked Haney’s footwork, advising him to improve. Prograis dismissed Haney’s training with Roach, stating it wouldn’t make a difference. He confidently declared he would knock Haney out, asserting that Haney would be on the floor when the bout concluded.
