Mike Tyson was always an anomaly inside the ring, as his punches knocked out 88% of his opponents. But besides boxing, Tyson was a menace outside the ring as well, nobody could dare to disrespect ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. However, in recent years, things have changed a lot with ‘Iron’ Mike. He has been more calm and friendly during his public appearances. But it was sometimes a hassle to feature ‘Iron’ Mike on national cable, as nobody knew when they could get cursed by the Youngest Boxing Heavyweight champion.
In the recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the co-host DJ Whoo Kid, asked Tyson about his old interview, and how he’s managed to get out of the public image he had during his prime days of boxing. So, Tyson shed some light on his past behavior during interviews, and how he changed over time.

So, after Antonio Brown talked about how he used to ignore all of his nay-sayers and just focused on his game, Tyson also recalled his fighting days. He stated that he had to conduct himself in that manner because he was a boxer back then and it was necessary. But he stopped doing it when he took retirement from boxing. So, Kid asked him if he ever got a chance to “flip the narrative”.
Tyson said, “I didn’t know how to handle fame that much. So I thought they were attacking me, and I was only a street kid, I’m not that experienced. And the only I know how to fight back is either physically or verbally that’s going to lead physical.”
Moreover, he was not pleased with the media recently for putting him in a “ridiculous” situation. Fun fact, in 2014, that is 9 years after his retirement, Tyson had an outburst with a Canadian reporter for his obscene question in the middle of an interview.

For the promotion of his documentary, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, Tyson appeared on a Canadian show, with Nathan Downer. Well during that interview, the reporter asked about his meeting with the mayoral candidate, Rob Ford, and whether it could affect his campaign because of Tyson’s past rape allegations.
Tyson replied, “Hey, um, I don’t know who said that, you’re the only one I heard say that.” Then he refused to answer such a question and added, “It’s so interesting that you come across as a nice guy but you’re really a piece of s**t.” Downer instantly tried to change the subject and asked if it was more nerve-wracking to perform on stage or inside the ring.

Tyson said, “I don’t know. It’s more nerve-wracking to be here talking to a rat piece of s**t like you.” Well, after that, Downer decided to end the interview and thanked Tyson for coming on the show, while Tyson said, “F**k you.” So, it’s safe to say that no matter what his age is, ‘Kid Dynamite’ would still not accept disrespect from anybody.
