However, it did not go all too well for him, as he was handed his first loss in round 6 via a TKO. Almost two years since the infamous battle, Rolly Romero now looks back at their fight in a new light.

When the host asked Romero about how the Tank fight changed his life, he gave a long, detailed answer. He said, “At that time, I just gone off all that bullshit alright, it was like God flushed all the trash out of my life, flushed every bit of trash out of my life and I was alone for about that whole year honestly, everybody started coming back in the second they found out I was fighting for the world title.”
Rolly Romero revealed how the people who had left him after the Tank loss came back around once they found out he was fighting Barroso for a world title again. Romer revealed how he did not let any fake people around him once they came back after his title win.
Further giving credit to Tank, Rolly Romero said, “Because of that fight, I tend to understand him a bit more too, and like I said, not even in boxing. I owe him that, ’cause that’s more important to me than money.” The loss helped him grow both as a boxer and as a person, according to him. There is no doubt that the loss helped Rolly become a better boxer as he eventually emerged stronger than before by clinching the WBA super lightweight title in 2023.
It seems Rolly was not the only one appreciating his change. The CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, also made a tweet about the video. Let us see what he had to say.
