Months after Kitchie Marikit Laurico’s death, the trusted assistant of Floyd Mayweather, his baby Momma, and ex-partner, Melissa Brim, is still finding it difficult to overcome her loss. The Mayweather clan has voiced their love and admiration for the late aide on multiple occasions this year, signifying the impact she left on them with over ten years of dedicated work with the former welterweight champion. This is the reason Melissa Brim took to social media to voice her love for “Kitchie.”
Today, if the fondly called ‘Kitchie Kitch’ were alive, she would be 48. In this celebration, Brim, the mother of Mayweather’s first child, Iyanna, took to her Instagram stories. Posting videos and pictures of her with ‘Lilo’. In one of the images, Brim wrote, “Happy heavenly birthday my Lilo,” followed by a “Love you Kitchie.” However, the cornerstone of this wish was an elaborate post that Brim penned in memory of Kitchie.

Detailing Kitchie’s endearing quality of remembering everyone’s birthday, Brim wrote on her Instagram story, “ONE THING ABOUT KITCHIE SHE KNEW EVERYONE’S birthday… if i ever forgot all i had to do was look at her page & she would be shouting someone out & i knew it was safe for me to wish them happy birthday too!”
Further, in the note, Brim goes on to detail how much she misses Kitchie. “I miss her beautiful face, that contagious laugh & smile,” Brim went on to recall. According to what Brim said in the post, Kitchie always had her back and complimented on how she looked, even if she looked like “a mess.” In an emotional homage, she further added, “Love you kitchie & i know your dancing in heaven right now.”
The Mayweather family is still so attached to Kitchie. Right now, as they navigate in the wake of her passing, such endearing notes by Brim remind us of the day the devastating news came.
An Untimely Departure for Kitchie
On March 29th this year, news came that Kitchie had tragically passed away in a car accident. Reportedly, she was en route to pick up Mayweather from the airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. The car she was traveling in collided with another car, causing significant damage, including the death of Andrei Sison, a close friend of the boxer. Devastated by the news, folks close to the Mayweather family paid their condolences to the sweet soul that was Kitchie Laurico.

Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx expressed his immense sadness, writing, “I know they say the god doesn’t make mistakes, but come on man, not @ikitchie my heart is shattered.” Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe posted two broken heart emojis on his Twitter account. Even WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman paid tributes to her online.
