Jake Paul made his professional debut back in 2020. At the time, he was a YouTuber-cum-boxer. However, in a short space of time, Paul has transitioned himself into a professional boxer. In the last three years, he has fought against multiple former MMA world champions in the boxing ring and even challenged a professional boxer, Tommy Fury.

Moreover, his career as a YouTuber has been on standby. But he does not regard it in a negative light. In a recent turn of events, the 26 years dwells into how boxing assisted him in life.

Earlier, Paul was a resident in Los Angeles. After he started his professional boxing career, he moved to Puerto Rico. Over there, he has immersed himself in living the lifestyle to master the ‘Sweet Science.’ In a recent interview with MMA Hour, he revealed that he is glad that he made this decision and expressed his passion for the sport.  In addition, he unveiled that boxing was the catalyst for him to get away from “dark places”.

Reflecting on the same, he stated, “This is my life. That’s the truth. I love this sh*t, I’m so passionate about it. I need boxing, boxing saved me from these dark places and that’s not some story to be told or have some fun and make this stuff up. This is my life. This is what I do, this is what I love.”

It is safe to say that Paul has found his path. Moreover, he wants to become a world champion one day. Many find that to be unrealistic but Paul thinks that the narrative is changing.

It is no secret that Paul has been one of the best boxers to come out of the influencer realm. However, initially, Paul was counted out by many in the boxing world. But Paul thinks that the masses now appreciate his dedication and performances. At the same, he acknowledges the fact that there will always be people who are hyper-critical of him. In the same interview, he added, “When I’m in the gym, I am kind of like a lost puppy. This is my destiny. So I think a lot of people realize that and respect that and obliviously there’s the people who are like who is this? You know, what’s going on here? They always have something to say.”
