Claressa Shields stands in solidarity with Palmer

In a recent social media exchange, boxing champion Claressa Shields took a stand in support of Palmer. Shields expressed her disdain for the judgmental comments and defended Keke’s right to wear whatever she pleases as a grown woman and public figure. The incident sparked a broader conversation about gender norms and respect.

It all started when champion Alycia Baumgardner took to Twitter to address the Palmer situation. The undisputed super featherweight champion wrote, “I’m laughing at these men replies to the Keke situation. We get it your INSECURE!”

Claressa Gwoat Shields shared her agreement with her statement. Moreover, she stated that she hates that “they think it’s ok for that man to do what he did on social media!” She pointed out that Palmer is a public figure and that she is a grown woman. She further wrote, “Wear whatever the hell she want!”

Shields appeared disheartened to witness the disregard for an individual’s autonomy and the lack of respect in these situations. She stood in solidarity with fellow a athlete’s statement regarding the situation.

Shields claps back at being called a “Masculine” woman

However, one user, Júnot shared his disagreement with her. He wrote, that he “really thought better of you [Claressa Shields].” He further wrote, “This is why I only deal with feminine women.” The user claimed that “and are sensitive to the needs of men. Masculine women have no regard for men because deep down they desire to be men.” Furthermore, possibly referring to Freud, he wrote that “They [Masculine women] have p*nis envy.”

Shields, replying to the remark on her femininity, sarcastically asserted her love for tough males and shut him down with 6 words! She jested, “I love p*nis, i love alpha males”.

Regarding the situation, Shields has already taken her stand as she brought the situation to light for her followers. At the time, she stated that the approach Jackson took was wrong. According to Shields, he should have dealt with the situation in a private manner rather than taking it to social media.
