The Charlo brothers were once stuck like glue, sharing an almost unbreakable bond as they tried to form their identities in the ring through the might of their punches. Following their ‘Lion’s Only’ philosophy, they ran down one opponent after another. However, in a rather heartbreaking turn of events, the close relationship between Jermell and Jermall Charlo came to a halt. The two have been at odds with one another for some time now.
The reason for the huge fallout? According to Charlo, it is his elder brother’s actions outside the ring that has managed to tarnish his name. Moreover, he appears to be rather happier without his brother’s inclusion in his life. Previously in an interview, he had even stated his desire to not “deal” with the “havoc” his elder brother brings. Interestingly, while Jermell had such strong words for his brother, Jermall Charlo has been trying to mend their relationship, as is apparent in his recent statement.

Recently, a video of Jermall Charlo doing an Instagram Live surfaced on social media. In the video, he had some heartfelt words for his brother which he wanted to convey to his brother as ‘Iron Man’ is not in contact with him. Charlo stated, “Y’all see my brother, y’all talk to my brother, y’all tag my brother, tell my brother I miss him, I love him… I got you, gang, I love my brother. My brother’s solid.”
Moreover, he even asked his fans to tag his brother during the live. It’s apparent that Charlo desires to mend his relationship, but cannot do so as Jermell doesn’t want the same for now. Previously after winning against Jose Benavidez Jr., he stated, “And tell him I won the fight and, you know, y’all call him for me or whatever, hit him up. He’s not answering my calls or whatever”. Furthermore, he added, “My brother ain’t been in camp. Ain’t seen him, talked to him, nothing, throughout this entire camp.” It seems that things are still as tense between the brothers with no sign of it healing in sight.
Charlo’s troubles not only sabotaged his career but also ruined his relationship with his brother
At this point, it’s not news that Charlo had been dealing with a lot of personal struggles that kept him off the ring for 29 months. His last fight was back in June 2021, which caused a lot of doubts to be raised about his skills. Moreover, these struggles are also one reason behind the brothers’ falling apart. He also wasn’t able to make the Canelo Alvarez bout due to these reasons.

In a recent interview, he reveals details about his struggles.
