Ryan Garcia, the talented Mexican-American boxer, has been in the middle of a legal dispute with his promoter Oscar De La Hoya over contract details. Unfortunately, this has led to a rift with Golden Boy Promotions this year. While there have been some concerns about their apparent reconciliation, we hope that they can resolve their differences and move forward together. Earlier this year, there was a bit of drama on Twitter between Garcia and his promoters, which made headlines.
Fans were also surprised when Garcia revealed that Golden Boy was supporting another fighter under their banner. Garcia has expressed some doubts about favoritism towards emerging stars associated with the promotion. After his recent win against Oscar Duarte, Garcia is eyeing a bout with Rolly Romero. But De La Hoya might have other plans.

Oscar De La Hoya throws light on Ryan Garcia’s future plans
Shortly after his victorious bout, ‘KingRy’ wasted no time in challenging WBA junior Welterweight world champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero. Expressing a commitment to becoming a world champion, Garcia called out Romero, alluding to Romero’s recent win against the 40-year-old Ismael Barroso. Garcia dismissed any attempts to downplay the victory and asserted that defeating Romero could pave the way for more significant matchups with the likes of Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney in the competitive 140-pound division.
However, his promoter, De La Hoya might not be so sure about it. “I haven’t even thought about it, we have to go back to the drawing board, we’ll figure out a plan. As his promoter for many years to come, we’ll figure out a plan and then we’ll go back to the drawing room” said De La Hoya.
