On one hand, Jermell Charlo is set to make his return in less than a few days. Not to mention, his bout against Canelo Alvarez might end up being his biggest contest to date. On the other hand, his twin brother, Jermall Charlo, does not have any fights slated as of now. This is concerning, given the fact that he last fought in 2021.
Moreover, earlier this year, Charlo did reveal making a comeback before the year ended. However, no recent revelation or announcement has been made by him until now regarding that claim, which begs the question, why has he been so inactive? In a recent interview, he broke his silence on the reason behind his inactivity.

The short answer is, “Personal problems.” However, there is more to it than meets the eye. In a recent interview with @FutureOfBoxing, the boxer stated that he voluntarily decided to take some time off to address certain facets of his life outside of the squared circle. In addition, he wishes not to dwell too much on it but thinks that the boxing world is aware of it.
He said, “I took some time off to get myself better. I can’t say I am fully there yet but I do want to fight before the end of the year. I had personal issues, I do not want to speak on it. Y’all probably already know.”
Jermall spoke on stepping away from boxing and when he plans on returning to the ring.

On similar lines, he adds, “Just had a couple of personal issues that I had to battle on my own and get through them. I couldn’t really focus on boxing. I had to take time to get myself better.” Of late, the boxer revealed some bad blood that he shares with a certain family member.
Soured relationship between the Charlo twins
The tension between the Charlo brothers has escalated. Intriguingly, it was Jermall Charlo who was speculated to face Alvarez. Moreover, their relationship took a serious hit because of their hostile argument after an altercation between former champion, Caleb Plant, and Jermall Charlo. In an interview, he stated, “Jermall Charlo confirms that he is not on speaking terms with his brother Jermell. There is a distance from Jermall’s fight with Caleb Plant, where the partners of the two twins ended up fighting in the place.”
It is safe to say that although Charlo may have been inactive and have no fight lined up, he wishes to make a return. In an ideal world, who would you like to see him face next? Share with us your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
