Ryan Garcia is set to take a significant step towards a potential rematch with Gervonta Davis as he prepares to face Oscar Duarte on December 2nd at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The upcoming bout on DAZN holds crucial importance for Garcia, who cannot afford to underestimate Duarte with his impressive record of 26-1, including 21 knockouts.

Recognizing Duarte’s toughness, Garcia is aware that overlooking him would be a mistake. In a conversation with Fight Hub TV, Ryan Garcia revealed his mindset going forward for his fight on December 2nd, 2023. He stated how he doesn’t think Duarte has what it takes to defeat him. He also mentioned that even if Duarte is training hard, he couldn’t be on his level.

Garcia said, “I’m way more experienced than him. I have way more tools than him. He don’t have a lot of options with me. So I’m gonna know what’s coming and he’s not gonna know what’s coming at him. It’s just simple. Oscar’s gonna come and try to fight and try to make it a tough fight, but I mean how tough can you be when you keep getting punched in the face. You can’t be that tough.

But this time, Garcia is doing something different with the fight’s marketing. He’s decided to not broadcast the fight on PPV because he doesn’t feel it’d be fair to his fans.

For Ryan Garcia, the upcoming bout against Oscar Duarte is scheduled to be broadcast on DAZN. It marks a departure from the pay-per-view format of his previous fight against Gervonta Davis. While the option for another pay-per-view event was available, Garcia emphasizes his commitment to the fans, stating, “Most people are like, ‘bro, you just did a big pay-per-view, why don’t you do another pay-per-view?Because that’s dumb. That’s robbing the fans.

Garcia recognizes the significance of this fight against Duarte, acknowledging the opponent’s skill despite being relatively unknown to the broader audience. Eschewing the traditional pay-per-view model, Garcia sees this approach as the new blueprint.
